Saw on twitter, not from Adam, that three potential transfers have called Duke to gauge interest....
One has to be Tony Parker... Who else could the other two be?

No thank you on Parker.
Another transfer that has been mentioned is Wally Judge from Rutgers, but according to Alex Kline (@TheRecruitScoop) he is entering the NBA Draft.
What a terrible decision.
"Haha no not at all" was one response I got when I asked if this was true.

Judge himself just tweeted he is coming back to school next year.
Figures coming from that person.... I thought they were bluffin', but wanted someone credible to check into it. Thanks, Adam...
Here's a first list of 2013 transfers. If Duke's going to get one, this is a good place to start looking.
Don't expect them to get just a warm body though. They're not bringing someone in just for the sake of bringing them in.
At 100-strong, here is the first edition of the 2013 transfer list.

I'd go after Josh Davis from Tulane. Can play immediately. Not huge, 6'8 215, but averaged double double
^Why not just play Amile then?
Was gonna mention him or how hilarious would it be if the Ware twins came to Duke.
I have nothing against playing Amile. This Josh Davis would just be another body. They would battle for the starting 5 spot probably and could even be on at the same time or play minutes at the 4 with Marshall at the 5.
Are the Ware twins looking to transfer? Always thought they were soft anyways.
Got a little more info on this. If Duke were to take a transfer, and they wouldn't take just anyone, it would almost certainly be a grad transfer. This would be a stopgap one year player between now and (hopefully) Jahlil Okafor in 2014.
Makes sense. All in for Okafor!!!! I know Duke fans say it every year. But seriously, this 2014 class could be amazing.
I like the sound of that, Adam.
Just find us a banger that can finish, get rebounds, block and alter shots, and complement the absurd amount of talent and athleticism around him.
I'd love it to be Amile. But if not, let's find someone else to push him.
Grad school transfers are the type I wouldn't mind us looking for more aggressively. I don't know for sure, but my impression w/ each of the 3 transfers K has accepted is that he kind of fell into our lap, as opposed to our actually pursuing him. W/ just a one-year commitment, pursuing a grad transfer would be less of a risk.
From what I've been told, the coaching staff does a lot of work recruiting players who are on the market.
I thought the same as you, Dattier, until I was told that. Lots of behind the scenes stuff goes on when securing a transfer.
It figures it would be more complicated than I could imagine. lol
Still, it seems like you could take a little more of a chance w/ a guy who would only be there for one year, as opposed to a guy w/ 3 years of eligibility remaining. I mean, K has only taken 3 ever, and all 3 have turned into all-conference caliber players.
Roshown was before my time and Seth was relatively easy to get.
Rod OTOH was a very intense recruiting battle with OSU. We recruited him about as hard as a school can recruit someone.

Also keep in mind that it's generally easier to convince the admissions dep't to give a kid from an inner-city school the chance to succeed with the right environment/resources around him, than some junior in college who has an equally poor academic record. It reflects especially poorly on that athlete if he's been surrounded by staff devoted to helping him academically and he has like a 2.0 GPA.
So, although those details may never come to light (for obvious privacy reasons), academic performance rules out a lot of potential transfers.
Looks like some solid rumors that three players have reached out to Duke about transferring to Duke

Are we totally giving up on Marshall Plumlee? I know he sucked this year but before the injury Coach K did say that he would be Duke's sixth man. K isn't huge into hyperbole or coachspeak so I'm hoping with an injury free summer he will make significant strides. We can't have Josh or Amile playing the 5 and expect to win the national title.
Looks like Tarik Black is transferring from Memphis after graduating and can play immediately. He seems to be a good fit.
Good fit as far as size and ability on the floor. Not sure about attitude, effort, etc.
I wouldn't have a good attitude either if I had to play for Pastner and with the ballhogs at Memphis. If he understands he would be a rebounder/defensive stopper first, and a scorer second, give him a shot. Adam, do you know if his name been brought up at all at with the staff?
